Hadassah Reyes
Director, Kocina las Mitoteras
Hadassah Reyes is a Junior in College with a deep connection to her heritage through her family’s involvement in the San Antonio Missions Indian Descendants (SAMIDTX). She is the daughter and niece of the organization’s Founders, which has instilled in her a strong sense of pride in her cultural roots.
Hadassah’s love for baking led her aunt, Kristela Cortez-King, to teach her how to make frybread. This culinary tradition has since become a central part of Hadassah’s contributions to SAMIDTX, as she is now the Co-Director of Kocina las Mitoteras, a branch of the organization responsible for organizing the Frybread Social and Holiday Market. Through her work, Hadassah plays an essential role in preserving and sharing the cultural practices of her ancestors, while fostering community through food and tradition.
